Custom signs · made in Phoenix

Metal, LED, neon & wood — made here. Laser-cut aluminium, halo-lit channel letters, LED-neon, wood-burned and reflective street signs. Every spec, material and artwork requirement is on this page.

If you searched custom signs near me from anywhere in Phoenix or the West Valley, this page answers what a sign buyer actually needs to know before talking to anyone — and every sign on it is drawn live in your browser.

The lineupSix builds

A sign is a spec,
not a mystery.

A material, a size, a mounting and an artwork file. That's the whole decision. Below is every build we make, in the words people actually search for.

Custom metal signs & laser-cut lettering

The most-requested build here. Custom metal signs on aluminium or dibond for storefronts, offices, gates and ranch entrances — and custom laser cut metal signs where the letterforms themselves are the sign: no background panel, just cut metal standing off the wall on hidden spacers. That's the first surface above, drawn honestly — a solid sheet, a cut head crossing it, and the letters burning away out of the material.

If you've typed custom metal signs near me or custom laser cut metal signs near me into a map search, this is that shop. Brushed faces age well outdoors and hide fingerprints; painted faces hold brand colour exactly but show wear sooner. Cut work needs vector artwork — the cutter follows a path, not pixels — though redrawing a logo from a photograph is normal shop work.

Custom LED signs, neon & light-up lettering

Anything that has to be read after dark. Custom LED signs for window and wall, custom neon signs built in flexible LED-neon that runs cool and survives a Phoenix summer far better than glass, and backlit custom light up signs — halo-lit channel letters that throw a glow onto the wall behind them, exactly as the middle surface above draws it, one tube at a time.

Three things decide the cost of a lit sign, and none of them is the design: whether it's face-lit or halo-lit, whether it's indoor or has to be rated for weather, and how it gets power. A window LED-neon piece plugs into a socket. Exterior channel letters need a supply run and usually a permit. If you're pricing custom neon signs near me for a bar wall or a bedroom, you're in the first category and it's much simpler than the internet suggests.

Monument, pylon & storefront signs

The permanent ones go up the way the third surface shows: base course, then the cabinet, then the face, then the uplights. A monument sign is a clad or masonry base with an illuminated or push-through face; a pylon puts the same cabinet on a pole where traffic can see it. These need drawings, permits and usually a landlord's sign-off before anything is fabricated — send us an elevation photo and we'll tell you what the sign wants to be.

The restWood & reflective

Warm, or
strictly functional.

Two families that get overlooked: the ones people want to touch, and the ones nobody notices until they're missing.

Custom wood signs — burned, carved & rustic

Wood reads warm where metal reads corporate, which is why it wins for ranches, coffee shops, weddings and anything trading on being made by a person. Custom wood burned signs get the darkened, branded look — the burn is into the grain, so it survives weather better than paint on the same board. Custom rustic wood signs use stained planks where the texture is the point. Both take paint fills and metal accents, and both are genuinely one-off friendly: a single housewarming sign is a normal order, not a nuisance.

One honest caution for Arizona: wood outdoors here is a maintenance commitment. Direct sun and 110° days move and check any board eventually. Under cover it lasts for years; in full southern exposure it needs re-sealing. If you want the wood look with no upkeep, we'll show you printed or routed alternatives that hold up better.

Street, parking & reflective signs

The unglamorous ones are specs too. Custom reflective street signs on engineer-grade or high-intensity reflective sheeting for private roads, HOAs, ranches and industrial yards — plus parking, wayfinding, door and no-trespassing signs. Reflective sheeting is a material choice like any other: tell us where the sign lives and how fast traffic passes it, and the grade falls out of that. Headlights at 40 mph want a different sheeting from a pedestrian gate.

A note on regulatory signs: anything that goes on a public road, or that has to meet a code — ADA-compliant room identification, fire-lane markings, accessible parking — has legally defined sizes, colours and often braille or tactile requirements. We can make them, but you or your contractor own the compliance question. Say so up front and we'll build to the spec you supply.

Vector artwork wherever possible — PDF, AI or EPS — because a cutter follows a path rather than pixels, and vector scales to any size with no loss. For wood and printed work, a high-contrast PDF or PNG is usually enough. If your logo only exists as a photograph, a screenshot or an old business card, send it anyway: redrawing artwork is normal shop work and we quote it as part of the proof.

Face-lit letters glow from the front: light comes through a translucent acrylic face, which is the brightest and most legible at distance. Halo-lit letters have opaque faces and throw light backwards onto the wall, so you read the silhouette against a glow. Halo is quieter and more expensive-looking; face-lit is louder and easier to read from a road. Both are built the same way underneath.

No, and for most uses it is better. Real neon is glass tubing filled with gas, bent by hand, running at high voltage — beautiful, fragile, and hot. LED-neon is a flexible polymer channel packed with LEDs that mimics the look, runs cool, runs at low voltage, survives being knocked, and costs less. Up close a purist can tell. At normal viewing distance almost nobody can.

Often, for anything exterior, illuminated or structural — and rules vary by city, by zoning and frequently by the landlord's own sign criteria. Interior signs and window graphics usually do not. We are a fabrication shop and cannot approve your permit, but we can tell you when a build normally triggers one so you can start that conversation early. It is the most common cause of a delayed sign.

Sun is the deciding factor here more than anywhere. Aluminium and dibond outlast almost everything. Printed vinyl faces fade with UV exposure and last longer laminated and out of direct southern sun. Wood needs re-sealing. LED components have a rated life but the power supply usually fails first. We publish the specific materials and their rated life once the spec is confirmed, rather than quoting numbers we have not verified.
